A "gyaru" or "gal" is someone who wears certain hair, nails, and makeup to break free from the normality created by the society around them! These gals originated in Tokyo, Japan but have spread all across the world! (including here in America)
P A R A - P A R A ~ ~ ! !
Para para is a type of dance that gyaru like to learn as a hobby, often over eurobeat music.
It's a lot less popular now and recently the only para para I've seen being made is for TikTok. As much as I hate to see an art form reduced to a TikTok trend, it's good that the style of dance can still be enjoyable even through 30 second clips! My favorite song in this genre has to be 'One Night In Arabia' by the GO GO GIRLS.

I don't consider myself a gyaru because I don't usually do the hair and makeup, but I definitely have the gal mindset! Wearing makeup and accessories that others around me would only describe as "cringe" or "emo" is definitely not for the faint of heart. Most of the styles I choose are unconventional or untraditional, but I really couldn't be happier!
The more sneers and weird looks I get in the hallway, the more I know I'm doing what I was born to do: stand out! Besides, it helps me know which of my freinds will still greet me in the morning even if I look like a freak to everyone else there. I've actually had a lot of arguments because of the way that I dress and act. 😅
Even so, it's good to feel like myself everyday !~
